EU unemployment August 2010


As of August, unemployment in the EU 27 member states measured 10.1%. This figure is not accurate as several states have not yet reported unemployment levels for August or even July.

Big 5: France, Germany, Japan, UK, US

Latest update from the UK is June and Japan July. Germany shows slight improvement whereas unemployment in France and the US nudges upward.

Nordic and Baltics: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden

Latest update from the Baltics and Norway is June. Denmark and Sweden show slight improvement.

Central Europe: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, UK

Latest update from the UK is June and Japan July. Germany and the Netherlands show slight improvement whereas unemployment in Ireland, France and the US nudges upward.

Eastern Europe: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, Turkey

Latest update from Romania is June and Croatia July. Hungary and shows slight improvement whereas unemployment in Slovenia, Slovakia and Turkey nudges upward.

Southern Europe: Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain

Latest update from Greece is June. Italy, Malta and Portugal show slight improvement whereas unemployment in Spain and Cyprus nudges upward.
